This evening me and a friend went to our local amphitheatre to watch the wizard of oz. It was put on by a local company for free, called The Film Factory.They have put quite a few films on this summer, but this is the first one i have been able to go see. There was quite a good turn out too, everyone came ready for a film outdoors, blankets, cushions and snacks.

What a great way to spend the evening, better than sat indoors watching mindless tv.!!
More people gathering, getting there places.
This was at the start of the night, not yet dark enough to start the film, so we wait for dusk. Everyone was getting ready, settling down for a good old viewing The wizard of oz. A very enjoyable evening, will go again, the next film is going to be Jaws.

Saturday is my shopping day, so as i had to pick up some stamps that kate had ordered for me from pickleberry, link to the side,i felt like a little shop.Also i am starting university in september so this may well be my last spend up for a while!!! I am doing the foundation degree in childhood studies, so my dream of being a teacher is actually coming true, thats another blog post though.
Back to the stash shop, the stamps i had ordered were ones i have been after for a long time, a big thanks to kate for getting them for me xx

The Tim Holtz paperis one i have loved from afar for too long, and the single sheet i fell in love with too,by house of three.

Next up these word sheets, AUTHENTIQUE, are lush so had to have them.

Vintage lace in lush colours, so coming home with me.

Next up a sale basket, now these beauties are soooo lovely, should of got the other one too.!!! They are by K&COMPANY and love them x

Now then i nearly screamed with delight when i saw these in the sale basket too, oh how my jyc is gonna look so full of these this year. They are The girls paperie, last years but who cares, they are lush.Now my love of american crafts thickers is well known amongst my friends and family, this also includes other chipboard alphas that i love, so it was with no surprise that these next items came home with me, they are what is says on the packet......lush. I took home two packs of each as i couldnt resist a bargain, go on agree, you know you would have done the same xx

So so nice, i have stroked these today and have them on my desk to gaze at lovingly for a day or two, until they go into one of the drawers that is allocated for alphas. xxx

On sunday we went to the new The Range shop that has opened there, well the craft section is quite good, i got a few bargains, above is a 12 x 12 pack of white cardstock for £4.99, and the a4 packs are sticky foam pads for £1.00 a pack.

I also got another pack of the kraft 5 x 7 cards and envelopes, these are well worth getting, great cardstock, lovely size too.A pack of white cards and envelopes for £4.99, and the ranges own envelopes for £1.00 a pack.

Now this was an internet order from the fantastic A Trip Down Memory Lane, another of my loves is cosmo cricket, and their kits, i now dont usually buy single sheets of paper as i only buy packs, as i have found that you have everything you need to complete lo's and mini albums. After years of buying single sheets of paper, then not being able to find a few that match, this is what i now do.

Echo park is also quickly becoming a fave too, this is my fourth pack from them and it is fantastic, i love the colours and cannot wait to craft with this.

I also ordered some 6 x 12 photo page protectors, as inspired by shimelle's blog post about continuity, i got these to slip into my albums with the idea of continuing the continuity in the albums.

Well i had better go, i have a lot to do in my last few days off, before going back to work, have six weeks really gone this fast, oh well.

Well this is the start of my 4 x 6 photo love album. I am following along with shimelle's online tutorial and have decided to make it into an album, they are all random photos, but follow the concept of each number of photos for that month of the year. Above is january, one photo, you get the idea right ?? I am now wondering if i should have chosen the background paper to be the same all the way through, to have continuity in the album, its something i can change on a later date if i want to.

This page is a combination of a few ideas, i saw sj's blog when she made this cake and i used the idea for my class to make it as an Easter cake, each pupil made a cake and chose the colour they wanted. I can honestly say they loved making it and i will be doing this again.The cake was so big we shared it among a couple of classes and the office staff, the secretary's were chuffed to get a slice.
Three photos, i have a slight obsession with this vampire, and the twilight books.
This page was great to make, i love interactive pages.
I havent done page with 5 photos yet, instead went onto six and seven !! Also changed it a bit to suit my landscape pics.
Seven photos was interesting and works really well.
Flap opens to the left to show pics and journalling,
and to the right to show 3 pics.

Now onto something else. i bought this in a second hand shop and have an ides to fill it with scraps of paper, small items of house love. I have painted it white to give a clean base coat.

I have also been making a few cards, i love these flowers ade with old book pages, just punch out scalloped circles, stack 5 or 6 together and secure with a brad. scrunch up each layer, fix a button in middle and voilà... a flower.

Long long time no blog !!!

Well i haven't blogged for well over a year and this is due to family issues that have taken me away from blogging and crafting.I won't go into details now but lets just say it was life changing , devastating and scary all at once. I am getting back into crafting now and am also trying to blog again, so with that in mind i thought i would start with my new craft room.Some of the family changes meant that i could knock down a partition wall we had put up and return the room to its original size, for a craft room for me. This was painfull and pleasureable at the same time, but i was excited to see it take shape.I didnt take photos along the way, shame but never mind.We painted the room, two walls blue and two white.Laminate flooring was layed, easier to clean i think.Then came the best part, shopping. I used Ikea room planner, it was great to see the furniture in your 3d room, i would advise to use this. Then actual shopping, we made a few trips to Ikea to get everything i wanted, and a few extras too !! This is a recent purchase, a 2 x 2 expedit unit on castors, i saw this in ikea and loved it, it's my new stand up unit to use my new vagabond.

This is my desk, i saw this on the Ikea website and fell in love with this , it is a huge desk, with two vika alex 5 drawer units at each end.
These units are from the children's nursery range,i fell in love with them and got them.I love how my new craft room looks and really love being in there, creating again.

Some of the furniture i had already, a couple of the expedit units, and metal drawer units, the others are new.

Well i hope to try to blog at least twice a week, that's my new goal, so lets see hoe that goes.

money, money, money..............................boxes.

I visited my local and new 99p shop and found these tin money boxes, they come in all different childrens tv characters, at the moment it's spongebob and high school musical. Well after wandering around with them in my hand, looking at them, thinking about how i could decorate them, i finally had an idea and so bought them. I do have a tendancy to choose an item in a shop, ( no matter what shop, it can be any, clothes, food, books etc,) and wander around said shop deliberating with myself if i really want said item, and i admit at times i have put said items back on the shelf. Well three of these babies came home with me. So here is the before.......................

and here is the after, this is my first attempt, photo taken in bad light so sorry. This is my tin for my weight watchers money. I have started my diet in ernest again and instead of going to a meeting i am doing it at home and will put £4.00 in it as if i am paying someone to weigh me. This is my plan to make me stick to my diet and i am very positve.It doesn't show it but on the front bottom is a sticker that says " you're changing right before my eyes".......which i thought was very apt. I then used my Martha Stewart butterfly punches to cut them out from some of the lush papers from the cosmo cricket nutmeg collection, also the sticker came from the pack too.I love how the butterflys go all the way round the tin. The base of the tin is covered in sticky back wood grain vinyl.......my love for this con-TIN -ues......excuse pun. lol

The next tin has a story behind it and needs a little background, so here goes, every year i save for christmas by using Park hampers and i order vouchers to buy all my presents with. Over the years ( i have been doing this for eleven years ) it has been great. You get used to putting the money away and sending it to the agent, and when november comes around you get your vouchers, as if by magic you have all this money to spend and it sort of feels like someone has given you a lovely wad of money to spend. Anyway now my son is 17 and not so easy to buy for i am not getting the vouchers this year. But i still want to save, as i won't be doing christmas this year. So here is my christmas saving tin, i will put in the same amount i used to save for the vouchers.

Sorry blogger wouldn't let me turn pic, the really great thing with these money boxes is that they have no hole and stopper at the bottom. So to get your money out you have to use a tin opener. Now that's what i call a good money box. Well i hope you like the tins, and well done for getting this far, and i need to buy more of these as i have another plan to make some for a bunch og ladies who are saving for a trip to dublin to celebrate their 40th birthday.

oooooh presents!!!

Well christmas certainly came to our house this year. I got some lovely presents this year and am so gratefull for my gifts.We also got a new small printer, a canon selphy.We were so pleased, thanks to my boyfriends mum and dad and sister and brother in law, as they got it as a joint present.

I got these today with the money that i got from my link childs family, i look after a child from the school i work at after school.

These are the presents i got from my boyfriend, plus, not photographed the wii fit plus game.I consider myself to be very lucky to have received these lovely gifts.

These were the gifts that were in my stocking, yes..... we do stockings for each other, i love having a stocking and i also love buying gifts for his stocking, finding little presents to go in it. Can you tell that i love the wizard of oz.I got a W O Z cup, tin,money box and purse. I also got a pig pin cushion that i remember seeing months ago and remarking that i liked it.I love my red polka dot pencil case, with pencils to match.

Now this beauty is my present to myself as i had some money left over from a gift, and i saw this and fell in love with it, she is so adorable, i also luuuuurve robots, especially cute ones that will look cute sitting pretty on my chair in my craft room.I am thinking of calling her robbie.

I also received lots of twilight goodies from my friends that i havent taken pics of yet, i got a metal lunch tin with flask.....mmmmm my lunch is gonna look so cool when i go back to school next week, a new moon calander, 2 robert patterson calandars, keyring, magnet and the twilight book with the apple on the cover... mine is the film cover, that was from my son as he knew i wanted it to match my others...sad yes i know.

I also got some clothes and the usual smellies...gotta love dove. Scarf and gloves set. Oh and a lovely glass mirrored picture frame with the word memories in bling.

I made this today

Well today i have had to wait in all day for a repair man to come and look/repair my washing machine, so i thought i would do the house work then set to making one of these. I had had this inspo file on my computer for ages from shimelle Laine from two peas. So i gave it a go, it was easier that i expected and so much fun to do.

Well it is 5.35pm and the repiar man has till 6pm to get here, he had better get his skates on, i can foresee a telephone call to whirlpool again.

Will post pics of my finished quilts soon too.

The Lion King

Well i have been an absent blogger, never mind lots of work related stuff going on and getting ready for a school christmas fayre. On to better things, such as the Lion King. We went to see this show in london on friday night and all i can say is oh my its amazing. It was my first time to see a live show in london, and i have been wanting to see this show for a very long time. I was not dissapointed, as it amazed me with its beautiful sets, dancers, singers, actors, puppets and puppeteers, truly spectacular. It was uplifting, sad, and happy throughout and truly had me in awe of it.Timon was so very good, funny and cheeky at the same time, very cleverly done.Timon is in the picture above, he is a meer kat ( i think ) . This is one show that i would love to see again, if i had the chance. My son loved the film when he was little and would watch the film over and over, and would be one of the ways to calm him down, so this has quite a lot of meaning to me, also its a great story and film too.

I did, at one point become a little emotional in the show, didn't quite shed a tear but could have done if i wasn't surrounded by about two thousand strangers!!! This show was the one show that my beloved mum would have loved to have seen, but sadly wasn't to be. That is another reason its special to me. I can also cross it off my list of 37 things to do while being 37. Seen a show in london.

The scenery was wonderfull, and throughout i kept thinking to myself, " how did they make that ?" or " you could make that with so and so ". I love to make things, arty, scrpbooking, cards, etc.

Well onto other things, i have started my december daily but havent taken any pics yet, will do tomorrow, its a little slow going what with work, but have now got to catch up till today.

i am on a first aid course for the next three days and its quite intensive. I have been wanting to do a three day course for awhile now, so am glad to be doing this. Today we learnt how to do cpr and the recovery position, and bandages. Tonight i have to practise these and know them off by heart by tomorrow. It's been a while since i had to hit the books!!!!!!

Well on the crafting front i have made a start on my friends wedding album and am wanting to start prep for the december daily/ jyc album. I have a bo bunny 9 x 9 album or a 12 x 12 album to do this with, not sure which to choose??? What is everyone using if you are doing this.??

Toffee apples, mmmmmmmmm don't you just love these.They look so tasty, love the colours.

If only i had the time or patience to do this, i love the black and white pumpkins. These would look so cool on my front doorstep.

Now these i adore, can't work out if they are real and been dyed, or made out of material, etc. Love them either way.

Now what about this for decorating for halloween, mmm not enough pumpkins me thinks.

Now i love where the wild things are, can't wait to see the film and so love this pumpkin.

Amazing outfits, can you imagine turning up to a fancy dress party looking like this, i would love it.

Well we went to my partners familys house for dinner tonight, ( can't believe i forgot the camera) so have made up for it by looking up some cool images on the web. I may even print some off to put in an album.

Well tomorrow is the 1st of november ( as you all know ) and i am amazed at how fast this year has gone. My christmas vouchers arrived yesterday ( we do a saving scheme throughout the year ) and so now have got to start thinking about buying presents. Now i love christmas, and everything about it, but since my mum and dad passed away i seem to dread the whole start of the season as its a reminder on another christmas that they are not here for. We have a very good time with my partners family, don't get me wrong but its not the same. The truth is i miss my parents, and christmas is hard there's no getting away from it, i suppose it comes down to how you handle it and cope with it.

Sorry about that just feeling a little low.

The happy couple

This is my friends Mary and Paul who became husband and wife last saturday, i was asked to take photos as their photographer pulled out at the last minute and left them with no photographer. I managed to get quite a few good shots, i have only put a couple on here as i dont want to spoil it for them.

This is my very good friend Mary and i think she looks stunning, and i really like this photo too.I am planning to make them a scrapbook album and also have ordered a book from Blurb, a website that you upload your photos to on a template of a book and they print it into a proffessional book, i have also just found out that boots do a similar thing too, but i had an email from blurb with 20% off and free shipping, now that's a bargain in my book, just got to wait and see what it turns out like. fingers crossed.

It's ok i am not dead!!!!!

Well i haven't been around in blogland for such a long time, i am ashamed to say, that life got in the way. As it does with everyone, and something had to give way for awhile. Well i am gladly back to blogging and service will resume..... hopefully.
Without going into too much detail i have not been well, and work commitments have taken prioity, supporting staff at the school i work at whilst going through a redundancy procedure which has affected everyone at the school.
Onto crafty things, i have a few things to keep me going at the moment, jyc soon to begin, a wedding album to make for a very good friend of mine....sssshh she doesn't know i'm making her an album, so don't tell anyone.
Christmas presents to make, yes i have overcome my fear of my sewing machine and we are making items together, its a team effort my part cutting out material in the shape of strawberries and swearing profusely when it all goes hideously wrong, machines part humming along at magnificent speed sewing away. End results and photos to follow, i need some jars from asda but every time i go in to get some they are sold out....gggggrrrrr.
I attended friends wedding last weekend and she looked amazing, i was asked to take photos as they couldn't afford a professional photographer, will post pics soon. It wasn't great weather but it did brighten up by the time we went outside to have a few pics taken

Well hello there you lovely wood grain vinyl, you look so losh there on that album. This is how i feel when i see my lovely wood grain vinyl adhering to my paperchase albums, poor things have been sat on a shelf waiting for the perfect covering, project.Thanks to SJ and Emma i found some wgv, and had a fab half hour covering my three albums.Now to think of a project to fill them with. I also need another trip to Canterbury as that is where my nearest paperchase is, as i need some of the photo pockets to go in these babies.

Well my holiday is nearly over and i have also been buying new clothes for work, will blog again about that soon.

Me and my sewing machine are friends after all !!

Well today i have sewed my Oh Cherry Oh quilt pack together, as i have been putting it off for so long. I have to say that i really enjoyed sewing it together, and seeing it come to together slowly as a quilt top. I love the colours and patterns. Now all i ned is some quilt batting and a piece of material for the back, i think blue would look nice.

I have also fallen in love with wood grain vinyl, after some advice from SJ and Emma i visited my local b and q and purchased a roll for about six pounds, woohoo, i began to cover my paperchase albums in it straight away. I love how they look, and am waiting for my order of the new cosmo, earth loveand joly by golly for my shimelle christmas journal.oooooooooooh christmas!!!!!!!

The reason for a NON- holiday

Well this is my son kieran- sorry couldn't turn pic.

Last sunday he fell off a climbing frame and broke his wrist, we went to a and e and they x-rayed it then said it needed an operation to put a plate and screws in to hold it together, this photo shows kieran after having his arm manipulated back into place and put in a half cast. I admit to having to leave the room while they did this, kieran was on gas and air, and had had an injection to numb the wrist, also two nurses and a dr to do procedure, so i was getting in the way being a typical mother, worrying, scared and had signs of shock- shaking hands etc, one nurse kindly asked if i'd like to wait outside, i quickly agreed and left.

On my return kierans arm had been put in a half cast and we went off for another x-ray, they had managed to regain some of the length, his wrist bone had broken and slipped over onto his hand bones. The dr said that kieran still needed the operation , so we waited for a bed on a ward. We didnt have to wait too long, and i settled kieran in for the night and went home.

I wasnt allowed onto the ward to see kieran- who turned 17 in june- until 3pm, he had been put on an adults ward. So i phoned the ward throughout the day to check on his operation, he was due to have it done at 12.30, well they took him down to do op but his heart rate went very low, so dr not happy, he was returned to ward, to have tests done, he coped well with this, i was later told. He had a scan on his heart and dr was happy, he was taken down for op just as i arrived at hospital. He returned to ward asleep, nurse informed me that they did not do the operation as they had managed to manipulate his wrist into a good position and that it was quite stable-apparenty. So kieran stayed in that night and came home the following day. I had informed the hospital of our impending holiday-saturday 1st august, they put kieranon a fracture clinic for last friday.

Well we went to fracture clinic, x-rayed wrist and saw dr who promptly told us that his wrist bone has slipped back over his hand, and he was quite shocked at how much it has slipped, he said that after 8 to 10 days it usually slips a little but this was only four days later. So no leaving for Cornwall on saturday as we have to go back to fracture clinic on monday and have another x-ray to see if its slipped anymore, and for dr to make decision whether or not to do the operation that should have been done last week.

Now i am not cross at my son , it was an accident , i am not cross about not going on holiday, my sons health comes first everytime, what i do feel a little cross about is the fact that i feel the hospital should have done this operation at the time of the accident. My son is in full time work as a yardsman and fork lift driver so his hands are his career. I am hopefull that he will have the operation next week to repair his wrist and make a full recovery, but am sad that this week of him having his wrist in plaster could have been a week of him recovering from the operation on his wrist.

Sorry to rant about this, i haven't felt the need to rant on here before but this is quite a major thing in our house at the moment.

We are hopefull that we can go on our holiday for the last week, to cornwall with our trailer tent. The campsite have been very good and have kept our pitch open as we could be there by friday- its all paid for- for the last week.

A jolly good read

These books were bought for me as a leaving present from the staff in my class as i will not be with them in september. They are similiar to Twilight as they are about vampires and Harry Potter as they go to a school specifically for vampires. It follows the story of Zoe Redbird who gets marked to become a vampire and follows her story of how she handles the changes to her life.
I wasnt hooked instantly i have to admit, but i'm not one to give up, so i stuck in there and carried on reading. Well all i can say is they are a very good read, i enjoyed them. I am waiting to order the last book in the series, as it's not realised till october.

Well this is the first time i have taken part in this, and i,m a bit ashamed to say that this was my desk last night, and it is still like it now. Thats the pleasure of having a craft room, you can shut the door and leave things out to tidy up later. Which i do intend on doing, after i have made a few more of the card you see on the desk and below. I really like how it has turned out. It was inspired by one of my favourite designers, Dawn Mcvey, in Cards magazine.I changed it slightly, but i do have to say i am loving the kraft card stock cut into cards. I will be making a fair few with this card i can tell you.

This is the card i made last night. Kraft cardstock, white card, blue cardstock cut into thin strips then punched with the Fiskars Effervescent punch, a cirle punched from kraft card, and a swiss dotted piece of white card which i then cut out butterflys with my spellbinders die. I have to say that i like this card and am thinking about making a few sets of cards for friends for christmas, maybe the same cards with different sentiments on them. maybe??? And yes i know, talking about christmas again, but i have to start early as i work in a large school and have many friends who i like to send handmade cards to, and make presents for a few too, also it gets very busy at work with the pupils christmas makes, christmas fair,etc.

Taking a break from christmas gift planning i ventured into my garden with my small camera to see what i could find. Well i very nearly stepped on this beauty, picture a bit hazy sorry.

I have been looking around other blogs lately and have been inspired to start to use my sewing machine again. Now don't get excited i haven't actually used it yet, i just have lots of ideas and have seen lots of beautiful material, i would love to make a quilt to cozy up on the sofa with. So the search for lush material and easy pattern resumes, wish me luck!!!

Well i've made a good start.

Well as the title suggests i have made a start on my christmas cards. I had made some boo bears up already and after buying the winter set in which you get a die that cuts out the hat and scarf, i cut some out and attached them to some of the bears . I think they look really cute and quite christmassy too.

Here is a close up of the cards, i also used the embossing folder to make the word joy. I also swiss dotted a background for the card.

This card was made after i had some inspiration from Dawn Mcveys blog on how to make these flowers, i just changed the colours to resemble a pointsettia. I have also made similiar cards with other colour flowers.

This card is my take on a design in a mag called creativity life, i think. I used my christmas papers that are left over from last year, and used a stamp from my stash. I like this card and think i may make a few more, as i do like to make a few of the same card.

I am enjoying making cards at the moment, especially christmas ones, as there is no pressure to get them finished yet, so i am going to try to make a few a day.

Also to use up my christmas stash left over from last year, as i have been looking at the new releases for this year and i need to make space for some new christmas stash.

I am also thinking about making a travel journal, i have seen a few on blogs and i love ali e's style, so i may be able to do this, this year. I need to get a move on with it as we go on holiday on the 1st August.

Well i am off to make more cards and bash around a few ideas for a travel album.

long time no blog post...........

Well i have'nt blogged for what seems like an age. I have been in hospital, having my gall bladder removed, three weeks today. I did not have a very good time of it, to say the least and i won't go into detail, except to say that i was kept in hospital longer than expected and that i do not want to go into hospital again for quite some time.
I have had the last three weeks off work to recover and now i am off work for the summer holidays, so i shall be spending plenty of time in my craft room.
Last week i ventured out to Pickleberry Papercrafts and spent a very pleasurable hour and a half talking to Jane Dean and her friend Helen, so funny and nice to have a bit of a laugh. I am going to make some sock bunnies, see Janes blog to see what these are.

I have started to make some, wait for it.........christmas cards. YES christmas cards, only because if i dont start now i will never get them all made and end up not sending out handmade ones, which i try to do every year. I did manage it two years ago, so i think make an early start. We'll see!!!!

Looking for bargains at a bootfair aint always easy!!!!

Lets start with a layout that i made last night-in between watching britians got talent- i have had this idea in my head for awhile and really enjoyed making up the layout. I have been more adventurous these days and have actually been scrapping myself. I have also had the idea to do a album based on this patteren paper with lists of tens, ten books i have read, ten films i love,ten people that have inspired me, you get the idea right? I am thinking whether to do it 12 x 12 or smaller, only ideas at the mo, also what to call it?? Ten things!! Things always come in tens!! Top ten!! I will have to think more but i have written down my ideas in my journal, which i have made myself do lately as i forget ideas so quickly.
Well today i was up and in the shower at 7.00 am, madness i know but i can't lay in bed once i have woken up- i get a headache if i do this- so up and at em!!
We were at the first bootfair by 9.ooam and it was really big and really busy, too busy. You could hardly walk down the aisles without either bumping into someone, or waiting to get past people, which may i add that quite a few people did not feel the need to do this, they just pushed past or jumped infront of you, to which i loudly say " excuse me works wonders you know"!!
It was so busy it put me off looking for any nice things to go in my craft room, i am on the look out for an object that i cannot remember the name of, i have seen it on lots of american blogs lately with people using them to display cards on them, they are small round metal, with spikes pointing upwards, its flat on the bottom. I am not sure what it is called but i wonder if anyone out there knows- any help please!!!
We left that bootfair with two strawberry plants, sorry forgot to take pic of them.
Well next we went to another smaller bootfair, the photo of my goodies is last,So i will show you these first, i saw this love heart bird and thought it would look cute in my craft room, £2.99

Next onto poundland for some cheap goodies, shaped post it notes and heart shaped blings, one pound each you can't go wrong. I thought the post its would look quite cute when doodled around the edge.

Now when i saw these felt stickers i nearly whoop whooped for joy right there in the shop, whilst regaining my self i quickly stashed 3 packets into my basket, mmmmmm look good with lots of ranges of pattern paper thats out at the moment.

Now this little lot cost me the almighty price of ......wait for it...............£1.40. Even i can't believe it, well i can really but you know what i mean!!!

The book is a Victoria Plum Annual which i bought to rip out the pictures to use on scrapbook pages....= 20p

The owl trivets set of four i got for ...50p, i have a fondness ( some may say obsession ) for owls, mostly cute ones and these will go superbly with my large one that is the same, see a full set now.

The two rolls of ribbon, one has birds on it, the other has leaves i got for .........30p.

The pink bowl which i thought looked cute i got for .....20p.

The butterfly small pictures, which i thought were old cards from cigarette boxes are actually transfers, no matter they are gonna look so gorge on cards and layouts, i love them, and i got these beauties, all 66 of them for...............20p.

Well i am so glad we went to the smaller bootfair too, i think i will make that one my first port of call next time. I have had a good day at the bootfairs. I don't go to them to hunt out anything i just love to see what people are getting rid of and if i see something i like i will pay what the people are asking for that item. I think it is a good way of recycling, emptying out your loft or garage and making a bit of money, and also for getting a few bargains.

Well i will be off to my craft room now to have a play with my new and old stash,

It's Saturday so that must mean shopping...right?

Firstly a visit to my local scrapbook shop, i haven't been there in a couple of weeks and was pleasantly surprised to see some new things that i just happened to buy...oh goodness how did that happen. Some lovely papers,mmmm kraft one of my faves at the mo. I can see some cards being made with these and a layout .

Now then when i was this set of papers from Graffic 45 i fell in lurve!! I can see a mini album being made with these papers. I have noticed that cherries are a bit of a fave at the mo on other papers, reminds self to order some october afternoon, so i bought these .

When i saw the cherry sizzix die reduced to £1.99 i had to buy it to go with my papers and then saw a set of stamps , also with a cherry in for £2.35 i bagged them too. I am loving go create dies too, even though you only get 4 dies compared to the spellbinders sets where you get 6 they are only £12.99, and are great for what i want to do with them. I got the set of ovals and scalloped ovals.

Now this is what i am really excited about, the fact that i managed to get the cutting plates and spacer for the border dies in my lss, and then spotted the border dies. Well hello to you, you little pretties, you are coming home with me.They are lovely and i am going to go and play with these very soon.I also got an alphabet die to, i am very surprised that you get a whole alphs on one of these dies and am looking forward to using it today. These dies are £11.73 and in my eyes thats good.

Next i went into Hythe, a little town near the sea, also where i work, and had a look around the second hand shops. I found this bowl and paid £2.50 for it, i can see it in my craft room holding something pretty, like ribbons etc.

I also got this lazy susan, i have one of these already in my craft room with my amm tote on it with all my tools in, i bought this one so i can have another bag of tools/ stash on a turntable. £2.00= bargain.

BARGAIN ALERT.......
Now these are my real bargain of the day, i have had my eye out for some of these for awhile-i have a craft project in mind -i couldn't see any anywhere, until today. I went into a new second hand shop and saw these on sale for the almighty price of............................................75P. Well i did not hang about and paid for them quick smart. I used to do embroidery so know how expensive these can be.

Border punches .......oh how i love thee.

This is the state of my desk after an afternoon in my craft room making cards, i have had a lovely time getting inspiration from my new cards trends mag and having a play with my lovely new stash.

I worked out how to make shaped cards, with my go create dies, i folded a card and then put it over the edge of the die and ran it through the cuttlebug, voila a shaped card.....i am so pleased with them i have cut out quite a few of them.

Here's a few i made today, i used a flower gem that is a magnet, can't remember where i got these from, i found them in a drawer today, i like the effect though.

I am liking this one quite alot, i am loving the colours.I doodled stitches around the edge of the frame, never really done this before and liked it.

I made two of these, this is very nearly the same as the one in card trends, but obviously different stash, i love this new mag.I used my lushly lush lush swiss dots embossing folder to emboss the frame,which i cut out using my new spellbinders dies...frames 4, which by the way I LOVE,I am thinking of subbing to this mag, but not quite sure yet, will have to unsubscribe to others first.

Oh how i love these little beuties, oh i am in love with border punches, so so nice.I love the effects you can get with them, and borders have never looked so good.

I am still debating what to make for the staff in my class, i still think a notebook will be the best option, but i am open to new ideas, but am going to have to make one to see if i like the idea, so thats what i am off to do in a bit, before BGT is on tv tonight, i am so loving this show, i can't wait to see Aiden the little dancer, he's on tonight so looking forward to that.

A close up of the frame, i managed to get the distressed look after painting it by literally kicking it around my garden, i have gravel in my garden so it didn't take long to achieve this affect.

These are the cards i made for a friend that i work with that celebrated her fiftyieth birthday.

Well by that title i mean my health, which at the moment seems to be being affected by anything that is going, i now have an eye infection. Its red, bloodshot, sore and weeping, like all the time.It started on saturday after i had been out stash shoping ( not shopping again i hear you cry) yes- my new go-to-shop is Pickleberry Papercrafts. Anyway, eye is sore and i can't get to the dr until at least Tuesday or Wednesday, i really don't want to have to go to the walk in centre at the hospital, but if it gets worse that's where i'll be.....................................

Onto better things, whilst at Pickleberry i was hoping to ask Kate a few questions about how Jane Dean made her notice board, i had the same frame and was going to use it for another project but got swayed to the idea of Jane's frame, anyway i was just about to ask Kate and Jane walked into the shop, i didn't realise that Jane was in her studio. I went into Jane's studio-again- and asked her a few questions about the frame, what she used for the backing, how she fixed the brads through the wadding, how many layers of wadding she used, and Jane was so helpfull, even to the point of giving me some of the material she used in her frame- i had a different material but this is so perfect, and Jane also gave me a pot of the paint she used to paint the frame, so i was amazingly happy and can't thank Jane enough- thankyou Jane- i will email her a picture of said frame. So i came home and began painting, in between painting coats of paint i attached the wadding to the backing- i used cardboard and six layers of wadding. I then attached the braid into place, i only had 5 metres so i had to pace it out a bit more to make sure i had enough.i couldn't fix it into place with brads- this is where i could have given up on the project and walked away from it, but instead i had a cup of tea and left it for awile.I went back to it a bit later, and whilst sitting amongst the remnants of braid etc, i had an idea using buttons. I secured the button with embroidery thread and pushed it through to the back of the frame, then secured it with gaffa tape. I used loads of gaffa tape to secure the backing of this frame.

Well i love how the finished frame looks and now have got to just decide where to put it, in my craft room or kitchen, it will probably go in my craft room as i love it so much, thanks to Jane Dean for the inspiration, material and paint.

On another note i made a book for a friend- see post below- called she, here are a few pics, and she loved it, and phoned me after i had to leave it in her classroom, to say she loved it and it made her cry- in a good way, i love to make things for people and love it more so when they like or love what they receive.

Well we have been having problems with our internet connection. We have not been able to connect for seven days, and the only answer we could get was, there is a problem on the line.
Well today, we are connected- for now- it feels strange not blogging. I have missed being able to check out other blogs too, and see what everyone else in the crafting world has been up to.
I have made a few projects too, as not been able to blog, also i have tonsilitus at the moment which my dr thinks will turn into pharenjitus- spelling mistake insert here- so i am on antibiotics and feel pretty rubbish most of the time. I took the day off work today as i felt so bad, and to get to the drs.
On a crafty note i have made a book for a friend that is not having a good time at the moment, i will post pics soon, its based on a book made by voodoo vixen who was in turn inspired by a lady called shaulean over on uks,called she.

Well thats all for now, i am going to say bye before my internet crashes,lol.

A crafty space ...........

This is my craft room, my humble place for me to get away and craft in.I love it, it may only be half a room- we put up a partition wall to make two smaller rooms, obviuosly my son got the bigger half ( gggrrrrr ) and i got the smaller half to have as my craft room. My son has Dyspraxia and was suffering quite badly with the large soace in his bedroom as he was getting older and his room becoming emptyier-so to speak-as he outgrew his toys. So we made the decision to make two rooms. Everyone happy. Well i thought i would post pictures of my room.The first pic is from the hallway looking into my room.

This pic shows the far end wall, the window is on this wall, half hidden by my expedit, but it is not pushed up against the window, so i do get some light.

This pic shows some new bargains i bought at the weekend, the ikea helman filing cabinet and on top of it is a large wooden plate stand i got from a shop called Merchant Chandler fot £2.00. The small cream coloured basket is an old milk bottle basket- i think- i got from a second hand shop for the amazing price of 50p. I am loving vintage at the mo and am on the hunt for more baskets etc like this, so can be seen lately rummaging through boxes at bootfairs............

This is the helman ikea filing cabinet, these cost £20 each all but a penny, and i love them. I now have three in my craft room. This is the latest addition and i have arranged my stash so that this is now my card making station, with each drawer filled with different supplies, - top drawer c6 envelopes, then dl envelopes,then cello bags for made cards to go in -i have loads of these, was given them by a neighbour who once made and sold cards but gave it up, i sell some cards so come in usefull, then card packs,then white a4 card,then boxes of card-coloured and white from the paper mill shop, love their colour ranges of card.

This shows the top two shelves in my room above my desk-which runs along the left wall,i have suitcases from a shop called b-wise on this shelf, these hold ink pads mainly, acrilic blocks, and after a clear out at the weekend a few are empty, awaiting new stash........

These shelves are below the ones in the pic above, these are my ribbon jars and button jars.I use so much more ribbon now i can see it, i changed to these way of storing them last year and i love seeing my stash.And it looks pretty too.

These shelves are also from ikea-last years bargain of one pound each- they hold small jars-ikea-of flowers, wooden stamps, 7-gypsies stamps. My pink barbie radio i bought from a bootfair for 50p and its the best radio i have had for a long time, its still got the same batteries in it when i bought it two years ago. Also a black owl pot stand- so cute- bootfair bargain again

This is on top of my expedit-4x4 cube- this is my display area, cake stand at far end with more wooden stamps, canvas i made, cake pot, white bird bowl- yep you guessed it -bootfair- and two 12 x 12 rub boxes, one holds all my scrap patterned paper-which i use to make cards with- and on e holds all my basic grey paper packs.

This is my 4 x 4 expedit filled with boxes of stash and mini albums etc.

This is my desk which runs along the left wall to a small cubby hole where i managed to fit a 2 x 4 expedit which holds basic supplies like glues, spare tapes for my atg gun. Another helman filing cabinet is under my desk- had to leave the wheels off to get it under there, this one is half full- more sorting needed.

Well i hope you have enjoyed seeing my craft room, i need to tidy up a bit more.

Oh one last thing, i bought a new cushion for my chair as i have been spending so much time in my room i felt i needed a bit of padding on my chair,so i saw this pretty anf thought "your coming home with me" its so comfy now.

this is above 2 x 4 expedit in cubby hole, idea books,etc, big shot.

acrilic paint storage- may be changed soon.

skins and a transformation!!

Well thats what i found in my local poundland shop, where -yep you guessed it-everything is a pound!!!, these laptop skins. Now i have been perusing websites looking for skins for my laptop, but have always been a bit put off by the price- so when i saw these in the poundland i thought i will give it a go, well one pound each is ok to try and if they don't work or look good then off it comes. Also a while ago i bought this and it has been sat in a cupboard for an age, there were two in a set and only one pound.

It is a card like box- made out of thick cardboard and resembles a book. I thought about making a present for the woman i work with who is leaving , so i decorated it to match the card i made-see last post-we have a bit off a joke about a secret stash of chocolate at work, as she works in the main office and has a cupboard with chocolate, a few people know its there and if you have had a bit of a hard day you go and see margaret and she'll supply the chocolate- well i have made a small tag book to go inside the book and will put in a couple of bars of chocolate.

I have spent quite a lot of time in my craft room lately due to being inspired by other blogs and the scrappers on uks, and also due to me making more of an effort,its about making time for myself to enjoy doing the things i love to do. well on that note i'm off to look around the web and then into my craft room.

New magazine= new inspiration

This is one of the new magazines i bought this week, card trends and scrapbook trends. WOW is all i can say, such amazing talent showcased in these mags.i don't usually buy american mags but these are the same as the american mag but have been printed here in the uk, well i love them. so much so that today i have been in my craft room playing with new and old stash and thought i would have a go at a few cards. This beauty on page 136 caught my eye and i thought i would have a go at making a few.The one that has MISS YOU in white writing is for a woman who is leaving where i work, i wanted to make a card and am trying to think up a little something to go with it, i have one idea in my head-just gotta get onto paper so to speak!!

This is the card that will be given to the woman that is leaving my workplace next week. I really enjoyed sitting making these cards and realised i can still make them!!

Saturdays are for stash shopping................................

Well this saturday i took my sister niki-nikig on uks- to the grand opening of a new scrapbook shop-yippee waves flags- just outside Faversham, called Pickleberry papercrafts. It was lovely to be in a shop with a calm atmosphere and friendly welcome-thankyou ladies- and being offered tea,coffee,bucks fizz or champers and not to mention the to-die-for-cakes, i had a little spend up as you can see from the pics below-well i couldn't not now that would be rude!!!On the way home we stopped at scrapbook sisters and then Bybrook Barn.

I bought these stamps at Bybrook barn for £5.99 so cute.

Now this tin is so cool, i got it from Pickleberry Papercrafts but as Kate was tilling up she forgot to add this so gave it to me for free- thanks Kate xx

This is all i got from Scrapbook Sisters as by the time we got there my hayfever was at its worst and i did not feel like shopping, so went next door to newsagents and bought trusty sudafed to atack the stuffiness that was my whole face!!!!!!

Lovely lovely stash from Pickleberry Papercrafts, this ribbon is so lush, i sat stroking it last night, now to think up some amazing project to use this on. for myself of course!!! can't give it away.

Owl stamps now there's a surprise, if you know me you know i got a thing for owls and owl stamps actually anything with owls.

Amazing d-ring albums, so lush and embossed covers, my heart sings to these pretties, i think between myself and niki we bought the last ones.ooooooops!! papers by Sassafras, piggytales and cherryArte.

A pirates life for me............

or it would be if i were 8-12 yrs old and could fit into the woolworths Jack Sparrow dressing up outfit i bought for £3.00 when they were closing down, but sadly no. My nephew Kain on the other hand can fit into it quite nicely, the story behind these pics goes like this..................... Kain only wanted to wear the head dress of the outfit-not much of a photo opportunity so i convinced-bribed him to wera the whole oufit while i took some pics-i had to make him a book about being a pirate, he soon warmed up to having his pics taken and got into the swing of things and acted out a whole scene from pirates of the carribean!!!!!!!! well its been a long wait but i finished the book today!!!yippee!! i will deliver it to him in a while.

Each page has a statement about being a pirate............page 8 says " know how to shield your face............................................... you don't want to be on any wanted posters......................or recodnised on the way to school.

Page six says "know how to do the death stare.............................................then maybe they'll stop taking photos.

Page five says " know how to look innocent........................................................pirates don't have a good reputation.

After i had taken the photos of my nephew and he was exhausted from his pirate antics he wanted to draw some pictures of pirates and maps to go into the book, so i made a pocket for them to go in on page two which says" know how to draw maps...................................you don't want to get lost.

A few cards as promised.

This is one of the wedding invitations i made for a very good friend of mines wedding, she had asked me to make a sample card and this is what i made.She and her partner loved it so i was asked to make 75 of them.I used Delish papers and the card insert with the information on is able to be pulled out.

Sorry forgot to turn picture around, a few more colour variations.

I work in a special needs school as a senior teaching assisstant and every july when we break up for the summer holidays, i make a card and gift for each member of staff that works in my class as a thankyou for all their hard work in the term, as we may not be working in the same class the following year. I used my new boo bear go-create die to cut out the bears with different shades of brown for the bear, and then i ran card through my new cuttlebug with the glorious swiss dots embossing folder, then used a sizzix embossing folder-from the thankyou set- and adhered to the card. I raised the bear on foam pads. I think they are quite cute and will be making one for myself !!!! Hopefully the staff in my class will!!

I have just got to think up of a present to make, my sister niki-known as nikig on uks- came up with the idea of making small notepads by cutting a a4 plain and written pads into shapes and making a chipboard cover then bind with the trusty old bind-it-all. I think this will be the present to make unless i find anything else- so any ideas welcome..........

Well off to my craft room to have a play and hopefully make something for a special friend of mine who at the moment is going through a pretty rough patch, i saw a link to an amazing book on uks so am going to have a try and will show when done-fingers crossed i can give it a go. Now i am not sure on links yet so if i just say voodoo vixen linked to shauleans book called SHE and left me completely blown away- then if you go over to uks you will see what i mean. I am hoping its ok to attempt to make a version of it.

well i have had some fun on photofunia.com this past week, its a website that lets you upload your photos onto different pieces of art or photos. very fun, go see.It was great to do and i have printed them out to scrap, so that will be lots of fun.

I went back to work after the easter holidays last week and it was a hard week, it just shows what two weeks off work does . back to the hard grid!!!!!!........................and counting down the days to next half term lol.

Its NSD on may 1st and i am thinking of having a bit of a scrapbooking day, and to get lots done.

I am coveting the new fiskars punches, i have the threading water and new crest but have lots on my shopping list.

I am also looking for more of the go create dies as i am loving boo the bear, i have made a few cards with him on, i will show tomorrow.

Here are my Tim Holtz masks, stickers and labels.Also blending tool and soare foam pads, and a pot of glossy accents.

This is the back of the packet just to show you what they look like.

I found these on a stall-can't remember which one, and got talking to a woman -again can't remember name-she was a shopper though- and she told me that these are the same nearly as nestabilities and you can use them in the cuttlebug and bigshot. I have used them this morning to try in the cuttlebug and hip hip hooray they work.I will be getting more of these.

My most wanted of the day, the little green cutting machine-the bug. I got a good deal on this from my fav stall- scrap-revolution.

Well what a day it was at Ally Pally. It was very busy on saturday and to get to the stalls you wanted it was a long wait, but well worth it. There were so many people and i was so busy getting to stalls and spending my money i did'nt take any photos. I can assure you it was the busiest i have seen it and this was my fourth time of going. I didn't see anyone famous this year-last year saw Helena Bonham-Carter- but we overheard someone say they had seen Dawn Bibby with JJ. I was obviously too busy spending my pennies.

We left at about 3,30pm and headed onto Ikea, i spent about £70 in there getting a large frame for what will be my art wall in my kitchen- will post pice when done this week hopefully- and i had to stock up on more jars for my ribbons and buttons.

Well i am off to play with all this new stash and make a few pretties.

getting excited now..............................

These lo's are made using making memories pp and chipboard embellies and my ownhandmade enmellies.This album is my first time scrapping in 81/2 by 11 and i loved using this size, a change from my usual 12 x 12 or mini album.I also used large black and white photos, i think the size of the photos is 8 x 10, i got these printed at boots, not too pricey and good quality.

This photo was taken last year on my sons 16th birthday, i had planned a surprise bar-b-que and he thought no-one was coming to see him on his birthday-hence the grumpy look, i had to snap a few pics, and love this one.

I love this photo of my son Kieran, he wasn't expecting me to take his photo when i did and i just love how it came out.I have scrapped this a few times now too.

This photo is a scan of an old photo taken on a film camera with a black and white film.My son was seven at the time and it was at Newquay zoo in cornwall in the adventure park at the top of the zoo.

Well its thursday so that means only one day to go to the best craft show ever.I am getting rather excited about going to Ally Pally on saturday-its like christmas in my house, i am making a list and not only checking it twice, more like nine or ten times.I will probably do what i do every time i go to ally pally and thats ignore my well organized list with products rated on how much i want to buy them, priced and where to buy them from and just go around the whole show from stall to stall buying willy nilly, spending my money like its going to burn a hole in my pocket well bring on saturday is all i can say.

The weather here is raining and gloomy which has meant i have had to take the pics above inside today, and not in my garden like i wanted to, never mind. There is a bit of glare on some of the photos but not too bad.

I am off to have a shower as this lazy bod is still in me pj's, i am on holidays though, back to work next week!!

but with some help from a lovely lady over on uks i finally managed to do it, now that doesnt mean i'll be able to do it again........so enjoy these pics as they may be my last lol hopefully not.

I really enjoyed using these papers, and cutting out the shapes to adhere to the pages.The small paper flower with the button in the middle is one i made after seeing some made by eve from evealicious on etsy. amazing talent on their.

Well thats it for today as i have actually managed to post with pictures- see i cant be that bad after all, even though i think it was more luck than anything else.........................who knows whats coming next!!

Today i have cleaned, swept, mopped and dusted till i can dust no more. My house is clean-for now.iT took three hours to do all my house work and it will take about ten minutes to untidy it, but hey ho, never mind.At least i know its been cleaned today.I felt the need to have a spring clean and dust off those wintry cobwebs in time for spring,dont get me wrong i am no lover of the sun- light sensitive eyes + sun = ouch + headaches, but its still nice as it makes everything seem brighter.

So with a clean house i set to work in my craft room, i have made more cards for the birthday box project i am in the middle of for a friend, just to make the calendar pages now then decorate front of a5 file box. i will post pics when finished.

I have been out in my garden taking photos of some scrapbook layouts i did a while ago, they are using very old photos of myself and one of my brothers and one f my sisters. Its the first time i really tried anything like, cutting out elements from a page and also making my own embellishments which i gained inspiration from an artist on etsy--will post a link to her site.

well this is my first post and entry into blogland, i have been wanting to do this for quite awhile now, so here goes.

today i have had a friend come for coffee-thanks for the creme eggs lou-mmmmm. and this afternoon i am going into my craft room as i have got to finish a birthday card box that i am making for a friends nans birthday,will post pics when its finished.

I am looking forward to saturday-ally pally here i come, this will be my fourth visit and i am sooooooo excited, i have been saving so hard and have lots of pennies to spend,spend,spend.

I am contemplating buying a cuttlebug, i have a big shot and get on fine with this but feel i need one of these cute little green bugs on my shelf!!!!!
